For more than two decades, Julia has led complex experiential and live-event programs involving multi-million-dollar budgets, specialized teams, vendors, creative and technical production, executives, clients, logistics, and immovable deadlines — environments where preparation, communication, and attention to detail can determine the outcome.

Why Avalon Haus
It started with one house — and a much bigger question.
Avalon Haus was created to give the homeowner an informed, independent position inside an extraordinarily complex process.
While preparing to build her own custom home in Foley, Alabama, Julia approached the project the way she approached complex professional productions throughout her career: research thoroughly, understand dependencies, identify specialists, document decisions, and ask questions before execution begins.
The deeper she went, the more obvious the homeowner challenge became. A homeowner may invest hundreds of thousands of dollars — sometimes much more — in a project involving architecture, engineering, building performance, products, assemblies, trades, schedules, budgets, and technical decisions, while still lacking an independent owner-side resource focused on helping them understand how those pieces connect.
Many of the decisions that most affect health, durability, efficiency, comfort, maintenance, and long-term performance eventually disappear behind drywall, roofing, siding, tile, and cabinetry.
That realization led to Avalon Haus. Project 001 became the first opportunity to apply and document the approach in practice.

Her professional background spans multi-million-dollar live activations, national and high-profile experiential programs, luxury automotive, and motorsports — work built on large specialist teams, complex vendor ecosystems, executive and client stakeholders, and technical production delivered toward an immovable opening deadline.
Large live activations have an unforgiving characteristic: the opening moment is fixed. Preparation has to happen before the doors open. That reality taught Julia to prioritize preplanning, communication, decision ownership, contingency planning, documentation, escalation, and follow-through — before execution begins, not during it.

On complex live programs, Julia learned that many "execution problems" actually begin earlier — an unanswered question, an unclear responsibility, an assumption, a missing decision, incompatible information, a communication gap, a late selection, a dependency nobody identified, a contingency never discussed. Once execution begins, those gaps become more expensive and harder to solve.
That's why Avalon Haus places such importance on preconstruction — the same instinct, applied to a homeowner's project.
